Welcome! My name is Roberta Marin, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), practicing in New York City, and an adjunct professor at Columbia University. I commend you for taking the first step toward becoming your best self. Psychotherapy can be a powerful experience, helping to cope with challenging emotions while building awareness of your needs and desires, all on a course to unlocking your full potential. My goal as your therapist is to guide you on this journey and provide you with the tools and mindset to carry resilience with you going forward.

  • My practice is committed to creating a safe and supportive space with a focus on delivering meaningful, yet action-oriented guidance and insights that can lead to personal growth and healing. My approach uniquely combines Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic perspectives and is highly influenced by multiculturalism, with sessions conducted in English or German if requested.
  • I launched my practice with the mission of helping my patients develop resilience - a mindset that allows people to live a fulfilled life on their own terms. Outside of my practice, I am an adjunct professor in the Psychological Counseling Graduate Program at Columbia University and enjoy presenting, collaborating, and contributing on topics related to mental health that are pertinent in today's world.

  • Currently, my practice operates virtually. I offer individual therapy sessions lasting 45 minutes Monday through Friday, with evening appointments available, and create a package of assignments for ongoing self-reflection. I have experience working with adolescents and adults across a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, acculturation issues, and interpersonal conflict.
